Exercise is Medicine is a global health initiative managed by the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) that focuses on encouraging primary care physicians and other health care providers to include physical activity when designing treatment plans for patients. EIM is committed to the belief that physical activity is integral in the prevention and treatment of diseases and should be regularly assessed and "treated" as part of all medical care.
The Center for Sports & Exercise (CSE) in conjunction with the University Health Service (UHS) is pleased to promote Exercise is Medicine on Campus (EIM-OC). This worldwide initiative calls upon universities and colleges to engage in the promotion of physical activity as a vital sign of health. EIM-OC encourages faculty, staff and students to work together toward improving the health and well-being of the campus community. To foster greater community involvement, EIM On Campus (EIM-OC) aims to recruit and utilize the resources within University communities to support this global health initiative.
