To add to the extensive range of health, fitness, and sport opportunities that the Centre for Sport and Exercise (CSE) offer for students, we are delighted to announce two new programmes to support students in developing their employability and transferable skills.

Firstly, our Sports Coaching Bursary programme offers students the opportunity to apply for up to $5,000 in funding towards a recognised coaching qualification, utilising the knowledge gained through their course to then gain experience assisting with the delivery of a CSE programme.

Secondly, our Sport Volunteering Placements programme offers students the opportunity to develop sport at HKU, receiving expert mentorship and guidance from our CSE staff across a range of areas. Placements can include areas such as social media/marketing, event management, and health & fitness.

Research has shown that employers identify a clear link between involvement in university sport and the skills that are of the highest value to their organisations. Students involved in our leadership programmes should expect to develop their communication, planning, and organisation skills, all of which will help them in their future careers, whichever path they choose to follow.
