Free Staff Membership to University Sports Facilities

(From December 1, 2017 onwards)
Mental and physical health are strongly interconnected. When we feel physically fit, it is more likely that we will feel more positive and become more efficient at work.

We are proud to announce that from Dec 1 2017, all eligible full-time HKU staff (and eligible family members, retirees, and official visitors) will gain access without any charge to the CSE facilities as part of an innovative CSE and SMARTER@HKU initiative to promote a happier and healthier campus as part of our “Exercise is Medicine on Campus” programme. (N.B. Starting from May 2019, the free staff membership has also been extended to HKU fractional staff)

A comprehensive array of excellent sports facilities are located at the Stanley Ho Sports Centre (predominantly the outdoor sports centre), the Flora Ho Sports Centre (predominantly an indoor sports centre), and the ACTIVE gym on the Centennial Campus. Charges will continue to be applicable for any courses and classes organised by CSE.

Having access to the extensive and excellent University sports facilities will help maximise many health benefits to you and your family, including controlling weight, combating disease, boosting energy and an increased sense of happiness/enjoyment.
