Free Cardiac Screening Testing for Students
13 Aug 2025

Colleagues from Queen Mary Hospital (QMH) and the Centre for Sport and Exercise (CSE) are once again promoting heart health and wellbeing amongst student-athletes by offering free cardiac screening opportunities.

In 2024/25, 223 students across more than 20 sports completed the testing, with around 10% of athletes receiving further assessments and guidance from expert doctors. By identifying any potential cardiac issues at an early stage, athletes can receive expert guidance to promote their health and reduce the risk of any future abnormalities.

Bookings are now open once again, with screenings starting from Monday 25th August. We strongly recommending that all active students, particularly those who play competitive sport, register for a free screening. The screening includes electrocardiogram, echocardiogram, and blood tests, all provided at no cost (typically worth over $5,000). Those who have previously completed a screening with us do not need to re-test, unless they have been advised to by project staff.

There are a limited number of dates and spaces available, so please use this link to book your free screening as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
