As a former Olympian and Director of the Centre for Sports and Exercise (CSE), Dr. Tse shared his professional insights on the role of heart health screening in sports participation. The article highlights the growing attention on the prevention of sudden cardiac events in athletes and underscores the value of evidence-based screening programmes for identifying individuals who may require further medical assessment.

The feature also notes HKU's efforts in introducing cardiovascular screening initiatives for student-athletes in recent years, reflecting the University's commitment to athlete welfare, preventive healthcare, and safe participation in sport.

Dr. Tse emphasized that while sports and exercise bring substantial health benefits, ongoing education, proper screening, and appropriate medical support are important components of a comprehensive approach to athlete health and safety.

CSE is proud to contribute to advancing sports medicine, exercise science, and athlete well-being through research, education, and community engagement. We congratulate Dr. Tse on being featured in this important discussion that promotes greater awareness of cardiovascular health in sport.
